Questions for Keely Graesser, Candidate for Bronze Usher

This thread is for Keely Graesser, candidate for the position of Bronze Usher. Keely, feel free to post an introduction to yourself and your goals as a potential officer.

For those new to our system, the Bronze Usher is the local equivalent of the Gold Usher. The officer is responsible for promotion and PR, as well as merchandise approvals and the maintenance of good information regarding vendors known to the Order in their particular Sector. They work as assistants to the Gold Usher, to whom they will report.

I'm a second generation Whovian thanks to my dad, and am raising a third. As a homeschooling mom to three kiddos (Peter, 6.5, Sarah, 4.5 and Luke 2.5) I love to use conventions as field trips, time traveling shows to teach history and costumes to teach home economics

I have a Femme 4th Doctor cosplay that is waiting for better photos at WhoFest before going up for endorsement, and my son, Peter, has an endorsed 10th Doctor. Sarah has a pink dalek dress and little Luke a Tardis shirt. We've got a great deal of other cosplays too at www.facebook.com/munchkincosplay for anyone interested.

Tom Baker will always be my doctor, but Nine has got to be my favorite thus far, with 10 close behind and 12 quickly growing on me.

I've had my share of previous experience in promotions and PR in fandom over the years, not the least of which was my four-year stint as Art & Promotional Director for anime convention Oni-Con in Houston, TX. I also worked as Director of Publications at Dallas Christian college for two years and ran the online club, message board and magazine Anime Angels for nearly 10 years.

Currently I am administrator of DFW/North Texas Cosplay & Geek Garage Sale and Prosper Geeks & Gamers (For those in the Prosper, TX area, near us!) on Facebook and moderator at North Texas Cosplay. With three littles and a husband that works evenings, I don't always have the time to go to as many events as I'd like, but I love helping organize them and make others aware of all of the fun events and happenings in the area.

I'm not as familiar with vetting vendors, but have confidence that Sandi can give me any pointers needed.

Amazing job putting together the Comic Event in record time Keely! That's far better than answering any questions as far as I'm concerned! You're going to be great!

Thanks Stephen! I'm anxiously awaiting hearing back from More Fun Comics and Games to finalize the event! On the edge of my seat, lol
