Please take some time to cast a vote for the best candidate or option for the Office of Lord/Lady President of the Order of Gallifrey. The first runner up in this poll will be elected Chancellor for the 2014-2015 term.
In brief, the Lord/Lady President serves as the Chief Executive of the Order of Gallifrey. S/he serves as chief executive officer, and is entrusted with the responsibility of representing all members equally. S/he is given the ability to veto any act of legislation or verdict, but must provide clear and concise reasons for doing so. S/he has the ability to approve new Sectors and Outposts temporarily, as well as their names, and may appoint temporary leaders until such time as they elect their own local officers. S/he is responsible for heading the effort to write Costume Standards, as well as other executive duties.
The Chancellor is the Chief Legislative Officer for the Order of Gallifrey. S/he may organize a vote to Override a Presidential Veto, is responsible for coordinating legislative efforts of the High Council of Gallifrey (that's all of you!), and serves as Second in Command, filling the duties of the President when S/he is unable or incapable of doing so. In addition, the Chancellor may call for a vote on any Legislative matter proposed by membership, may organize committees for various tasks, etc. Finally, the Chancellor may cast a deciding vote in the case of any tie not relating directly to his/her office.
You may vote for any of the candidates, or for the "None of the Above" option. If the "None of the Above" option wins, then a new period of nominations and election will begin for the office of Lord/Lady President.
