I had already started on my female Tenth Doctor inspired costume when I found that Pocket Princesses had done a clip with all the Disney Princess at the time cosplaying as the first through 11th Doctors. It turned out that Ariel's Tenth Doctor was almost identical to pattern I'd already begun on. So it's been decided that I'm going to run with it and do a double cosplay. This is the image of Ariel as the Tenth Doctor Because it seems that the posts have limited attachments I'm going to have different posts follow up with the pieces that I'm using to create my costume. Input welcome!

BLOUSE
For the blouse I found fabric in the same patterns but opposite colors for the blouse (I promise I'll upload fabric swatch pictures soon right now the fabric is packed away from the cats). I honestly don't remember if I just pinned or actually already cut out the pattern. If I did it would be this shirt pattern with short flouncy sleeves. Blue shirt with brown trimmings.
If not I found this pattern and I kinda like it better I might add the flouncy sleeves from the other pattern though.
Thoughts? The top blouse is more along the lines of something Ariel would wear. BUT the second one allows me to do a tie. I'm torn.

JACKET
So at first I really thought that I would just buy a replica coat but then discovered that the only NON-wool options were wool blends. I'm horribly allergic to wool. So I went hunting for patterns ... guess what I found? NADA! Not a trench or duster pattern to be seen and most of the long coat patterns were not quite right ... so I was down to this option which would require modification along the bust line, as well as style. _ But then I found THIS!
I'd have to use the pocket pieces from the first pattern BUT I think this in a lined polly-cotton blend will work wonderfully with the poof of the skirt. (the fur is actually a detachable hood)Attachments:

SO ... stay tuned ... I've decided to run with the Ariel thing a little farther and really tweak things to be done as Ariel would have done them. This is either gonna be cool or ridiculous. And I'm ok with either result.

These patterns are gorgeous!!! They look like they'll work perfectly. Let us know what you find in terms of fabric! And nothing wrong with a little ridiculousness.... after all, 5 wore a celery I look forward to seeing your Ariel-style tweaks to this!

I've seen that art! Your pattern choices are going to make it ridiculously adorable. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
