How would you address the problems this sector has of members being spaced so far apart from each other? We just had a member join from College Station.
Why should people join the Order when there are other Doctor who groups who seem more active?

About me: I am the outgoing Gold Usher and have made many changes, hopefully for the better, for our website and Facebook page. A project that I hope to continue to work on is our wiki project. I have been sewing since I was a youngling and have been actively making costumes since 2009 and have been active in the Whovian costuming community for over 5 years. I am also active in the DFW Costumers Guild and enjoy making and wearing costumes from many eras and genres. I enjoy figuring out how to make my costuming as accurate as I possibly can. I blog at bankofmom.wordpress.com. ________________________________________________ This problem is something I face myself as I am in Tyler and the majority of the Sector is in the DFW area. We need to focus on activities, such as meet-ups & photo shoots, that are held at a convention. We also need to ask for fan tables at as many conventions as we possibly can (those attended by members of the Order). Something we talked about in the past was meeting up for lunch/dinner at restaurants that have a British menu/theme. We need to move forward with those plans. For the areas that are outside of where the majority live/work (such as San Antonio, College Station, Tyler, etc.) we need to recognize them as Outposts and work with the members in that area to build the membership up. We can work with retailers such as B&N, and other geeky shops to have Whovian activities. And we can invite other cosplayers that reside in the Outpost areas to join us, especially if they also cosplay from the Whovian universe. There is nothing to say that members of the Order cannot and should not be active in other groups. We need to focus on our mission - sharing with others what we have learned on creating costumes and props from Doctor Who.
