A bit about me: I'm the current and inaugural Gold Usher. My primary strategic goal for my 1st term were to revamp the website and move it to its own domain, while maintaining the integrity of the information there. This goal was completed in February 2015. Sector administration was granted to the various Bronze Ushers shortly after. The Gold Usher has also become the gatekeeper of those that get in touch with us using our web form. When an email comes in, I have been routing it to the correct Sector. We also now have a Flickr stream and an Instagram page. Goals that I'm still working towards are the Marketplace (need to come up with a catchy name for that) and our affiliate program with AbbyShot. Now for some personal stuff: I have been actively costuming for about 10 years now. I began by making costumes for my now adult kids (Mara, age 24, and Kayle / IntoxicatedPenguins, 22). I'm also making costumes for my 2-year-old grandson, Trystan. I grew up sewing and was using a machine by the time I was 6 or so (maybe younger, knowing my mom). I mainly cosplay Missy these days but have also cosplayed The Woman (AKA the Doctor's mum). I also have a couple of new costumes in the works. For non-Whovian costuming, I enjoy historical costuming but have also cosplayed Edea from Final Fantasy. I grew up with a mom that loves sci-fi. If it was sci-fi or fantasy, we watched it. She introduced me to so many worlds and I am very grateful for it. Pertwee was my first Doctor, but frankly, the Daleks scared the crap out of me and it would be years before I watched it again. My favorite authors are Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Patricia Briggs, Jean Johnson, and Robin D. Owens. I purchase goodies every day for a living as a procurement coordinator for a non-profit in Texas. I am also a grad student, studying organizational management focusing on supply chain management. In fact my current class is on PR and I plan on using what I learn for the good of the Order. We moved from Dallas to Tyler this past spring. It does make access to fabric and other supplies challenging, but we love it here. Our house is a 3 generation home with myself, Mara, Kayle & Trystan. I blog at bankofmom.wordpress.com. In regards to transparency, I have been making & selling Missy's cameo from Season 8 but have not listed anything for sale on the Order's social media pages. I am not an officer in any other costuming/cosplay group - the Order has all my attention.
