I hope I am doing this right. lol
Feel free to edit as needed or let me know if it shows up in a weird format. I am viewing this on the mobile so everything looks a little askew to me.
Costume Standard – 11th Doctor in “Town Called Mercy”
The Doctor wears 3 outfits in this episode.
The first one we see is his standard.
*tweed coat
*black pants with cuff
*button down shirt with bow tie and bracers
Second variation: The Marshall
* same costume as above with the following additions:
* cowboy hat
* gun with holster
* belt to hold up gun holster
* Marshall badge
Third variation is his Jex “ disguise”
* same as the first outfit we see except:
* the tweed has been replaced by a longer crushed velvet dark green coat
* face paint to give appearance of Jex
Standard 11 outfit:
1) Tweed coat. This is slightly different from earlier coats in two notable areas. The pattern of the tweed itself and the buttons. The size, cut and shape all stayed the same.
2) Button down shirt. Light blue with slightly darker blue stripes. No scroll pattern like he had in earlier seasons. White buttons.
3) Bow tie. Plain darker blue. No pattern.
4) Bracers. Dark red. Because the lighting is so harsh in this episode, the bracers appear to be different colors depending on the scene.
5) Pants. Standard 11th Doctor waxed black jeans. Approx 2” cuff. No belt.
6) Boots. Black lace up over the ankle. Styled like paddock boots.
7) Standard issue Sonic Screwdriver and gold watch (worn on left hand)
First variation. “The Marshall”
1) Cowboy hat. Unless specifically called a Stetson, this is just a cowboy hat. Stetson is a brand that produces different styles of hats. Tan felt with darker leather tooled band. Bullet hole from the Gunslinger that goes completely through the hat.
2) Leather Gun holster on right hip. Held in place by a black belt.
3) Gun. Pistol style. Probably styled after a Colt.
4) Marshall badge. Gold colored Marshall badge worn on left lapel.
Second variation. “ Jex Disguise”
1) tweed coat is replaced by a knee length dark green coat in crushed velvet. (Not to be confused with the long green military coat) 3 button in the front on either side. Silver’ish in color. Button on sleeve cuffs.
2) Face paint to appear like Jex. Jex’s pattern is actually raised – like scar tissue, but the Doctor’s was just painted on. Left side.
Optional props or add ons:
1) Toothpick. In one scene the Doctor is trying to be suave by chewing on a wooden toothpick.
2) Dust. The old west was nothing if not dusty. For added effect try putting some dust or sand on your boots.
3) Susan. Sorrel gelding. Standard western stock saddle. Double cinch. Bed roll, saddle bags, lasso, light orange all purpose saddle pad, rifle holster. Thicker bridle with nose band, conchos and tooling.
