So what do you plan to do for this sector? I plan to grow this sector. This will be done by attending local events, when possible, partnering with local charities and fan groups (such as AZ T.A.R.D.I.S) and social media. We may be a small sector, but we are still important and very much a part of this group. I plan to offer help as needed. The way I see it, leadership should serve the people, right? So providing resources, events, and help in any way should come naturally. Event promotion and planning- this is the fun part. Meeting some of you, hanging out, having some misadventures through time and space (Geronimo!).
What will be the three most important duties you will run of elected commander?- Serve you. Without you, no group, right?
- Attend events, promoting the group. Also partner with local charities, when possible.
- Be a safe place where all people in this region feel welcome and can talk bout the show they love.

We are all so very spread out between several states. What ideas do you have to cope with that challenge?

Thank you for the replies and questions, folks. Keep them coming. I won't be too much of an anal retentive about placement here, since the Sector is still new and growing, and Jana's your only candidate. Nevertheless, please do keep those questions coming. It's important to get the dialogue flowing, and as I am not supposed to take political sides in any election, I'll refrain from comments on Jana's run, and simply remind you that a "None of the Above" option is always present, even in an unopposed run. It's very important to our democratic process here.

We are all so very spread out between several states. What ideas do you have to cope with that challenge? Working with the most active members, perhaps delegate some of the promotional/charity/meetup opportunities to them as they are local. Teamwork never hurt, anyone, right? Also, check in regularly with members on either the facebook or the boards here. See what people are up to, what they may want or be interested in. |
